This Not Culturally Significant

Out of Spite Theatre presents the award winning, critically acclaimed, Offie nominated, London transfer and two-time Edinburgh Fringe sell-out.

‘Deeply sad in parts, this performance is a 55 minute scream for help, and it sounds beautiful’ ★★★★★ Independent

A brutally intense, darkly comic one-man show that unveils the bizarre, compulsive and eccentric nature of humanity. This thunderous, high energy piece of theatre is performed entirely nude and combines dark clowning with deeply grotesque bouffon to create a sharp political comment on contemporary society. ‘Shocking, funny and bittersweet’ (The Stage)

This is a show for thrill-seekers. It is both uncomfortable to watch and mesmeric, leaving audiences’ emotions balancing on a knife edge. Over ten characters take the audience on a journey from emotional despair to helpless laughter. ‘One of those rare and unmissable treats, striking in its originality, insanely funny… extraordinary and mesmerising stuff’ (Actdrop)

Out of Spite Theatre is the multi-award winning, critically acclaimed and Offie nominated company founded by Adam Scott-Rowley. The company strives to create confrontational, unsettling and high-intensity theatre.

Adam Scott-Rowley graduated from LAMDA in 2014. Since then, he has acted professionally in both Film and Theatre as well as forming his own company; Out of Spite Theatre. Adam’s focus for the company is rooted deeply in defying traditional theatrical norms and playing with form by combining the use of bouffon, clown and in-yer-face theatre.

The show has gathered a remarkable cult following with sell out runs,
