Welcome to another year of Drag Idol, the U.K.’s biggest drag talent competition which enters its 15th year and is set to be the biggest one yet.
We’ll be holding a series of 4 heats of Drag acts at the RVT, the winner of each heat goes onto compete at the RVT grand final on 23rd May to find the Taverns representative who then goes forward to compete nationally in the UK finals.
SonOfaTutu, returns once again to host this years’ competition at the RVT and experts from the industry will be invited to judge the contestants in order to find a winner.

Drag Idol still remains one of the few competitions on the live scene that can genuinely launch careers on the drag and cabaret circuit and has produced some of the brightest talents on the queer and cabaret scene including La Voix, Louis CyFer, SonofaTutu, Kelly Mild, Danny Beard, Baga Chipz, Martha D’Arthur, Tanya Hyde, Tracy Barlow and last years’ winner; Felix Le Freak to name a few. Even contestants who don’t win have attributed their subsequent careers to the exposure that drag Idol bought them.
