Welcome to another year of Drag Idol, the U.K.’s biggest drag talent competition which enters its 15th year and is set to be the biggest one yet. This is one of three UK Semi Finals being held and will feature finalists from The Two Brewers London, Admiral Duncan London, Sundowners Margate, Eden Birmingham, OMG Bristol and Charles Street Brighton.
Drag Idol still remains one of the few competitions on the live scene that can genuinely launch careers on the drag and cabaret circuit and has produced some of the brightest talents on the queer and cabaret scene including La Voix, Louis CyFer, SonofaTutu, Kelly Mild, Danny Beard, Baga Chipz, Martha D’Arthur, Tanya Hyde, Tracy Barlow and last years’ winner; Felix Le Freak to name a few. Even contestants who don’t win have attributed their subsequent careers to the exposure that drag Idol bought them.
