Dynasty was one of the 80’s eponymous soaps, featuring more shoulder pads and hairdos than was strictly normal.
It ran from 1981 to 1989 and revolved around the Carringtons, a wealthy family residing in Denver, Colorado. Dynasty starred John Forsythe as oil magnate Blake Carrington with Linda Evans as his new wife Krystle with Joan Collins arriving in the second series as the scheming Alexis – Blakes former wife.
With the arrival of Collins, ratings soared and made Dynasty the number one soap, with big plot lines, big characters and even bigger hair dos and shoulder pads. The fight scene between Krystle and Alexis is iconic and surely ranks as one of the all-time iconic scenes in Soap history.
DJ for the night: David Robson wearing his large shoulder pads and we promise to include a series with at least one catfight.
