A Queer Love of Dix AND Bilbao is Not in Spain WITH a guest spot by Lozt

A Queer Love of Dix

A new piece devised for this year’s Edinburgh Fringe sees Aletia Upstairs, cabaretist extraordinaire, follow-up her Mata Hari Fringe success with an exploration of Weill, Brecht, and Weimar cabaret songs like Falling in Love Again, Alabama Song and I Am a Vamp relating them to contemporary events, against a backdrop of expressionist painter Otto Dix.

Aletia Upstairs is one of London’s top cabaret divas and this is an opportunity to see the premiere of her latest show before it’s London-bound. Aletia’s Mata Hari received rave reviews, so this show is not to be missed.

Bilbao is Not in Spain

The enigmatic Doctor Woof, Britain’s furriest drag artiste, and the aromatic Aletia Upstairs, London’s sexiest Cabaret Artiste, combine their unique talents with lashings of glitter, feathers and fishnets coupled with some very clever original naughty songs.

With endless banter and audience participation, they explore the concept that everything in life is not always quite what it seems, asking the question: are you living life as the authentic you?

‘Doctor Woof, why are you not in the West End, already?’ asked the inimitable Sharon Osborne. The answer? Because they’re here at the RVT!

Lozt is the mysterious post-folk-post-poetry-post-art beat poet balladeer from a world that might seem familiar and foreign at the same time. He is dark, yet colourful prophet of urban decay and a celebrant of the beauty of the meaningfulness of nihilism.
