The RVT is proud to welcome T’Pau back to its venerable stage for a live acoustic set.
T’Pau became one of the most successful and biggest selling bands of the 1980s with huge hits like China In Your Hand, Heart and Soul and Valentine. Led by flame-haired singer Carol Decker, they rode the crest of a wave, also enjoying a quadruple platinum number one hit with their debut album, Bridge Of Spies.
After a brief hiatus, they reformed in 1998 and have been in high demand ever since. On their new Songs and Stories tour fans can look forward to hearing all of their biggest hits – as well as the stories behind them.
The tour coincides with the publication of Carol Decker’s autobiography, which will be published in January 2016. The story lifts the lid on the highlights and hang-ups of life in one of Britain’s most successful bands. Decker will tell stories from the book as she introduces some of the band’s biggest hits. She will also meet fans after the show to sign copies of the book and CDs.
Fans can look forward to hearing music from throughout T’Pau’s career, including songs from their 2015 album, Pleasure and Pain. Decker will be performing stripped back and intimate versions of classics that have stood the test of time.
She said “This is something completely new. The fans can look forward to hearing all of the classic hits. But we’ll also be telling them the stories behind the songs. It’s going to be an amazing tour.”
Supported by MICHAEL ARMSTRONG
Singer songwriter Michael Armstrong is delighted to be supporting T’Pau on tour, particularly as they were the first live band he ever saw! He will be performing songs from his eponymous debut album, which has already spurned two radio hits, ‘Allentown’ his cover of the Billy Joel classic, and his self penned ‘The Radio Years’.
Hot off the heals of his 2015 UK tours as special guest to Leo Sayer, Vonda Shepard and The Hollies Peter Howarth, Michael’s shows and album have been receiving great reviews as well as a fantastic response from the media resulting in extensive radio and TV appearances.
