Vangelis

Through the Decades

From The Voice UK to the RVT stage! Vangelis Polydoru immediately rose to fame after performing a version of Do You Really Want to Hurt Me in his initial Voice audition. His performance which attracted worldwide recognition and to date has more than one million YouTube hits. Vangelis reached the live semi finals of this year’s competition, and now he will debut his first full show Through the Decades here on Friday 22nd July.

Starting at the 60’s, and going right through to the 00’s, Vangelis will transport you on a musical journey through the years, singing some of his favourite songs from his favourite artists in his own unique and inimitable style. Except a mix of stripped back versions and haunting renditions of classics from the likes of Elvis Presley, Dusty Springfield, Eurythmics, Culture Club and many more.

A performer with raw emotion, Vangelis has been singing since he was knee high to a grasshopper (4 to be precise) and his love for music has continued throughout his life. As a teenager Vangelis attended the Anna Scher theatrical school where he learnt to grow into the acclaimed vocalist he is today. Since appearing on The Voice UK Vangelis has recently performed at Heaven, London and was invited to close the British LGBT Awards in the company of Brian May, Adam Lambert, Sir Ian McKellen to name but a few.

In Through the Decades Vangelis will share his journey through song and story, from those early days of singing as a child to performing to millions on BBC One.

“I have never really heard somebody do my songs THAT well until now. To hear you sing that song like that was a gift” – Boy George

“Beautiful and touching. There is something really wonderful when somebody takes a song and interprets it in a different way” – Paloma Faith

“Vangelis has such a soft, vulnerable, controlled voice that is really suited to belting out ballads. We think his voice is pretty much amazing” – Unreality TV
