Updated company statement about the Coronavirus (Covid-19)

James Lindsay CEO/Managing Director, Royal Vauxhall Tavern

It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we have temporarily closed for the foreseeable future after the UK Governments forced closure policy became effective on Friday 20 March 2020.

We’ve tried to keep the party going in order to protect the livelihoods of our fantastic team, our artists and our DJ’s, however the welfare of both our team and you, our amazing supporters, remains our primary focus and with the acceleration of COVID-19 it’s time to press pause on our community LGBTQ meeting place for now.

We’re a family here at Royal Vauxhall Tavern and it truly feels as if all that we are, all that we believe in and all we have worked for has been ripped out from underneath us. We will miss you while the country deals with this pandemic. But we’ll be back, and when that time comes we will throw you the best party in town.

We are so grateful for all the kind words and support you have shown us these last few weeks, we have been truly astonished by your level of loyalty and we cannot wait to repay you with that best party in town when we return.

Thank you for being amazing and please keep safe.
